Kenilworth is a beautiful town situated in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside and steeped in a wealth of English history.

A mention in the Domesday Book reveals that the Kenilworth of 1086 was a very different place to the town it is today. Over the past 900 years it has grown from an agricultural settlement of 100 to a thriving town of 24,000 people.
Kenilworth's most famous feature is its castle, generally reckoned to be the best ruined castle in England. The recently constructed Elizabethan Garden is a must-see! Find out more about Kenilworth Castle including special events. The first potato grown in England, brought back from South America by Sir Walter Raleigh, is thought to have been planted in the Little Virginia area of the town, near the castle. Just off the Coventry Road in Kenilworth is a field known as 'The Parliament Piece' - it is traditionally said to be the site where Henry III held a Parliament in August 1266, while his troops besieged Kenilworth Castle.
